This is the method I built when nothing else was holding.
Built at the intersection of brain health, lifestyle medicine, women's midlife well-being, and burnout recovery.
It treats burnout as a real biological event happening to a real woman with a real career.
Fully online. Open to women in medicine anywhere in the world.
HER PRISM is the lens through which a woman looks at her own messy middle — refracted through biology and wisdom into colors she could not see before. Through HER Prism is what she finds when she actually looks through.
At the core of everything I do is a simple conviction: every woman has a right to the knowledge, the time, and the means to take care of herself and her brain. When we treat that as non-negotiable, everything changes.
My role is not to deliver prescriptions or solutions. It is to hold a space where thoughtful women can understand what is shifting — biologically, personally, professionally — and tell the truth about where they are. From that truth, they find their own way forward. And that is what I call HER Bio-Harmony™: moving forward with clarity, joy, and the deepest kind of self-trust and self-care.
Aleksandra Pikula, MD
Founder, HER PRISM Method™
The HER PRISM Method™ is an original, proprietary framework — developed, validated, and trademarked by Aleksandra Pikula, MD. It is a structured, sequenced approach to transformation, applied inside an active medical career. It treats burnout as a measurable neurobiological condition layered onto perimenopausal neurochemistry, and recovery as a series of biological, values-based, and structural shifts that can be tracked, measured, and sustained.
It integrates a values-based and positive psychology approach with lifestyle medicine and preventive neuroscience to deliver intentional change that is both biologically grounded and psychologically generative. The journey moves women from understanding why change matters, to clarifying what they want, to designing how to make it happen.
It is grounded in: stress neuroscience, lifestyle medicine, positive psychology (PERMA, VIA Character Strengths), Self-Determination Theory, implementation science, social safety theory (Slavich; Karasek Job Demand-Control-Support; Edmondson psychological safety), and the lived experience of medicine as women practice it.
It is not therapy. It is not psychiatric care. It is not a wellness retreat. It is not a "mindset" intervention. It is not a resilience training or time-management course. It is not prescriptive or diagnostic.
If you are in acute psychiatric crisis or active suicidal ideation, please reach out to a licensed clinician immediately. This program is educational and coaching-based, designed to support women in active practice — not to replace medical or mental-health care.
Every woman who comes through HER PRISM™ meets the same five principles, the same validated instruments, the same sixteen-week arc. What changes is everything else. The biology is yours. The values are yours. The pace is yours. The depth at any given week depends on what your nervous system can hold that week.
There is a Minimum Viable Practice for the harder weeks and a fuller version for when the body has more capacity. The framework holds the shape; you fill it. This is what makes the work work — fidelity to principles, adaptation to the actual woman in front of us.
I built the framework. You bring the life. The work happens between us.
Burnout in midlife women in medicine is a measurable, reversible neurobiological condition layered onto perimenopausal neurochemistry. It is not a personal failing or a price of admission. Naming it that way perpetuates the harm.
Most wellness content treats midlife as a marketing season, not as a biological window in which the brain itself is being remodeled. The science of women's brain health in this window is what this work is built on.
Bubble baths and boundaries are not enough. Affirmations are not protocols. HER PRISM™ replaces motivational language with measurable change — validated outcome instruments, documented before-and-afters, evidence over feelings.
The principles are the operating logic. The tools are what we use inside every conversation, exercise, and assessment.
Biology before mindset. You cannot cognitive-behaviour your way out of a dysregulated HPA axis.
Abandoned values are biological necessities — not preferences. Reconnection is part of the protocol.
Calibrated to premenopause, the menopause transition, and postmenopause — not adapted from general adult literature.
Built around female physiology and the careers women actually live — caregiving, partnership, gendered institutions accounted for.
Daily practice is the lever, not knowledge. Short, repeatable, embedded in a real schedule.
Validated measurement turns “I’m fine” into baseline data: PSQI, abbreviated MBI, VIA, the HER PRISM Self-Assessment™.
VIA Character Strengths and PERMA scheduling translate your buried values into a calendar that actually holds them.
Workplace + home environment diagnostics, Boundary Architecture, daily protocols. Short rituals that keep the change.
The method organizes recovery into four ascending domains — built in order, because each one stabilizes the layer above it.
The HER PRISM Method™ does not rely on self-report alone. Validated instruments document change at three points across the program — so change is observed, not assumed.
There are excellent practitioners working in each of the dimensions below. What makes the HER PRISM Method™ structurally distinctive is that it is built at the place where all eight come together — held by a single founder with the credentials to carry each one. The combination is the niche.
Each dimension above represents a credentialed body of practice in its own right. The HER PRISM Method™ is the framework that holds them together — fidelity to principles, adaptation to the actual woman in front of us.
